Eli Zilbermann - Founder and Broadcaster
It began in the Seventies, when I was a regular soldier. Long sleepless nights in the pro-Shlom HaGalil war in Lebanon. Someone brought Zohar Argov tapes from home. It was familiar. He sang a Triphones song. I got curious and then it hit me. When I got married (during the Shlom Hagalil war), Nicolas was at my wedding. Years have passed and the Greek music theme got a bit 'rusty'. Family, work, studies, children…

Until in 1998, I connected to the broadband of those times, the ISDN. I recovered the website of Nikos Iakovidis. (Rather anonymous in Israel but well-known in his home Island of Lesbos). Nikos told me back then of the new genre. It was when Stelios Kazantzidis was still alive. Nikos defined him a God of Greek music, yet made sure I expand my knowledge of other Greek artists. This is how I got to know the various genres other than the Rebetiko and Zembekiko such as modern Laika, Greek rock, Entechno, Hasapiko, Chasaposerviko and so forth. I have since discovered a new world of pleasing sounds and tunes.

I decided it's time that others may enjoy my love for Greek music and so I founded Radio-Yasoo, which broadcast Greek music exclusively, 24/7.
